2023 SPRING LEAGUES

We are excited to provide a spring basketball league for boys and girls, grades K-6.  If you are interested in the league see the link below to reserve a team.

K-2
As with our Winter Instructional League, we provide our youngest athletes an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game while learning how to work cooperatively as part of a team. Each session includes a training session followed by gameplay.

Each division, kinder, first boys, first girls, second boys, and second girls, need a minimum of four teams for the league to occur. Kinder is a co-ed league; if necessary, grades 1 and 2 will also be co-ed to ensure all who want to play can.

To build upon the winter league, the kinder league will shoot at 8' hoops, first grade at 9' hoops, and second grade at 10' hoops, regulation height. *
      * We will revise this based on the needs of the teams

Grades 3 and 4
We will combine grades 3 and 4 and follow the current CYO rules. We will keep score per quarter, like a high school scrimmage, and wipe the clock at the end of each quarter. We aim to continue the lessons learned in the K-2 league and support the children as they advance their skills and knowledge. The score should be something other than the focus. The FFA staff will encourage teams to develop new strategies and skills so that each player gets a broader understanding of the game.

Grades 5 and 6
We will combine grades 5 and 6 and follow the current CYO rules. We will keep score for the entire game and keep track of wins and losses. We will introduce ideas and game strategies to coaches, hoping they will begin to challenge their athletes to play outside their comfort zone. The 5th and 6th-grade league will play for six weeks and then have playoffs and finals the last two weeks.
